Drumcode sister label, Truesoul, makes one of it's rare outings this October with an excellent two tracker from yet another of Sweden's seemingly endless conveyor of techno talent, Ida Engberg.
Engberg has carved herself a career as a DJ/Producer in the traditional way, through relentless hard work and passion. Her profile has steadily risen over the past few years without hype or fuss, with just her unique take on stripped grooves and heads down, sweat on the ceiling tech-house.
This debut outing on Truesoul is the very essence of Ida Engberg's sound its low slung, driving and in places as brutal as it is trippy. Owl's Nest is heavily detailed, with each and every sound flowing, mutating and building while a simple groove propels proceedings to carefully placed crescendos.
The percussive Little Shadow takes a moodier path but, with a intricate funk-laced groove and filtered melody underpinning a dogged vocal snippet, is no less effective and is a great slice of late night tech-house.
